Grinding/Polishing Machine, POLI-1HX
The final steps in metallographic sample preparation are grinding and polishing.
Grinding process is divided in two steps:
- planar grinding for removing surface irregularities
- fine grinding for obtaining a level surface
Polishing process is necessary for fine grinding surface traces removal in preparation to microscope examination.
Good results depend on the right choice of consumables like abrasive papers, cloths, diamond and alumina suspensions which combined to the right machines parameters allow perfect Industrial Material Testing.
> Automatic single platen ø 250mm grinding/polishing machine
> Equipped with automatic head for polishing processes up to
6 samples at the same time. Possibilty to choose two different samples holders as a standard configuration
> Platen and automatic head controlled by digital LCD panels
> Stepless speed and three level constant speed
> Fully programmable, 8 steps process control with automatic stop
> Cooling system to prevent sample overheating
> Recommended for scientific research institutes, metallographic laboratories and universities.
Planar grinding for removing surface irregularities; fine grinding for obtaining a level surface; fine grinding surface traces removal in preparation for miscroscopic examination.
Soft non-metallic materials (soft rocks, polymers), metallic materials: non-ferrous metallic materials (aluminium, copper, nickel base, coatings), ferrous metallic materials (soft steel, low carbon, cast iron)
Hard non-metallic materials (ceramics, glass, concrete)
Hard metallic materials (steels, refractory metals), used to reduce process time, for flat and fine grinding application and superior edge sharpness
Hard and very hard materials (hardened steel), suitable for flat and fine grinding applications and pre-polishing
