Consumables for Mounting process

Mounting is the second step of the metallographic Industrial Material Testing.
Depending on the materials, two techniques are available:
- hot mounting
- cold mounting

This procedure is recommended for small, fragile, particularly shaped or thin layered samples. Samples are englobed into a resin for protection, handling and having uniform sizes to obtain the best grinding/polishing operations.

Hot Mounting, Phenolic glass fibre resin for medium to hard materials
Hot Mounting, Conductive Phenolic resin for soft to hard materials (Electrolytic polishing or SEM)

Hot Mounting, Conductive Acrylic resin for soft to hard materials (Electrolytic polishing)
Hot Mounting, Epoxy resin for hard materials, edge observation, surface deposit, coating

Cold Mounting, Acrylic resin for Control/general use with fast mounting
Cold Mounting, Conductive Acrylic resin for SEM control or electrolytic polishing
Cold Mounting, Epoxy resin for Porous materials, observation edges and coating temperature sensitive materials
